Carpenters

The Attic Group, a family owned and operated company since 1975, is Australia’s leading Attic Ladder and Storage specialist.

Working hours are 37.5hr/week. Attractive salary based on relevant experience.

Requirements:

  • Carpentry Licence/Trade Certificate – Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting sketches and technical drawings
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address any challenges that arise on the job
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a carpenter/carpenter’s assistant, with a strong understanding of carpentry techniques and practices
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and efficiently
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to and from job sites
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Valid OH&S & White Card
  • Full working rights within Australia
  • Valid driver’s licence

Tasks:

  • Coordinate and schedule tasks to ensure the project stays on track and meets deadlines.
  • Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with safety and building regulations.
  • Provide hands-on carpentry expertise when needed, leading by example.
  • Communicate regularly with Attic operations team and client stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure materials are available, manage inventory, and maintain equipment in good working condition.
  • Travel to various client sites to pre-inspect job as required and undertake installation to meet clients expectation.
  • Construct/Install walls, partitions, ceilings, and floors using materials like wood and/or plaster to create tailored spaces within residential homes Attic spaces.
  • Install access doors, ladders, windows/sky lights, with precision, ensuring proper alignment and functionality for a polished residential finish.
  • Measure, cut, and secure wall and ceiling linings and finish surfaces with white cell dustproofing compound and sanding to achieve smooth, seamless interiors.
  • Safely and effectively operate hand and power tools (saws, drills, nail guns) suited for residential carpentry projects.
  • Work closely with other trades electricians, plumbers, and HVAC specialists to ensure all installations align with residential layouts and maintain a smooth workflow on-site

Customer Service Coordinator /Administration

Oakleigh, Melbourne VIC, Full time

The Attic Group, a leader in innovative attic and first floor additions for almost 50 years, is seeking a dedicated Sales Coordinator/Administrator for our Building division to support the sales team in all areas pertaining to customer engagement and enquiry management.

In this role, you will support the team in driving elite customer service activities including appointment scheduling, customer communications and documentation at all stages of the process. Your exceptional organisation and communication skills will be an asset and support our move toward industry best practice in customer care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enquiry & Call Management: Professionally handle all incoming customer enquiries, quickly identifying needs and providing appropriate solutions or directing them to the relevant department.
  • Contract Co-ordination: Engage and collaborate with customers, business partners and suppliers to support building project management.
  • CRM Maintenance: Update and maintain the CRM system with detailed client information, appointment details, and notes, ensuring all team members have access to the latest data.
  • Sales & Follow-Up: Leverage your sales experience to process product enquiries, follow up on leads, and independently convert internal sales opportunities.
  • Contracts & Reporting: Support the Building team through the compilation of reports and customer contracts under the guidance of the Building Manager. 
  • Customer Relations: Serve as the first point of contact for all customer enquiries, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and promptly resolving any issues
  • Administrative Support: Provide additional support as needed, including managing documentation, emails and supporting the sales team. 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Solid experience in customer service, preferably with experience in a sales and customer service-based role, ideally within building products or trade installation environments

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, with strong interpersonal abilities
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and other relevant Microsoft software
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise effectively
