Premium Attic Storage Room Conversion
Love your neighbourhood and your home and need more space?
Perhaps you are spending more time working from home, or the kids are growing up and you are jostling for space in the living room. Maybe your hobby is taking over the rest of the house or you want to de-clutter. Whatever the case, it would be great to have extra space and add value to your home.
Have you looked at moving to a larger home in the same area and are shocked at the cost? With up to 30% of the space in your home up in your roof cavity, that extra room might be easier and more cost effective to obtain than you think!
The answer may be a Premium Attic Room from the original attic experts. Starting from just $45,000, this is an increasingly popular option.
The difference between a Premium Room and a Dust Proof Storage solution is the structural floor and the quality of the finishings. These features give you a fantastic outcome at a relatively small cost per square metre. Each of our Premium Rooms contains at least one roof window providing fresh light and air, along with gyprocked and painted walls for a stunning attic space.
The first step is an in-home obligation free consultation with a specialist consultant who assesses your roof space. Give us a call or fill in the contact form today.
How can I use the room?
A Premium Room can be used as occasional living space and many of our clients choose to make this into a home office, a 2nd living room, a movie room or a hobby room (for sewing or exercise for example). If you would like a bedroom, our Attic Living division can help you create a full conversion, complete with internal staircase.
Do I need council approval?
Most Premium Rooms are undertaken as Complying Developments which means no DA needs to be lodged through council. Our Building Supervisor and structural engineer certify the work complies with the Building Code of Australia. This ensures that if you do decide to sell the property, you will have no issues with potential buyers requesting this documentation.
If your home is heritage listed our architect and team have wide experience in steering the development approval with council.
How long does it take?
Once contracts are signed and a deposit is paid, the process is quick with minimal disruption to your home.
The first step is certifying the build as a complying development which takes a couple of weeks. After certification the build team gets going and on average it takes between 4-6 weeks to complete to finishings if the room has a fixed staircase. If your Premium Room has a pull down attic ladder the build will be shorter.
There is no need for you to move out of your home and our team are very experienced and sensitive to working in residential environments.

Spring is almost here and if you’re like most people, household clutter has accumulated over winter. As the weather warms up, it’s time to start thinking about spring cleaning. While many people view this as an unwelcome chore, no one would deny that a spring clean is beneficial and necessary. The aesthetic benefits are obvious, but did you know that there are broader physical and mental health benefits as well?
Anita Birges, Professional Organiser and decluttering expert has teamed up with the Attic Group and Howards Storage World to take you through the process of transforming your roof space for storage, as well as offering some valuable tips on how you can organise it effectively. We have produced an informative video to demonstrate how you can make the best use of a dust-proof storage room, avoiding turning it into just another cluttered room.
