Company founder and Managing Director, John Stewart, has seen the
business grow from selling 200 ladders a year in the seventies to become
the national market leader servicing over 3500 customers in 2008/9
across the attic ladder access and clean storage space categories.
The business is now also a HIA and MBA award winner in the Attic
Conversion category, having completed scores of successful projects
allowing customers to gain additional functional living space like
studies, bathrooms and extra bedrooms.
John reflects, “Our customers are looking for more space. Whether it is
for storage or for living, the spaces we create help families de-clutter
their homes and increase the value of their property.”
Testament to the quality of the product and level of service, more than
25% of sales across the business come from customer referrals. “Also
satisfying is that we are now starting to see our original customers
come back for their replacement ladder after 25 years!” says John.
As well as a full range of residential and commercial ladders, the
business is now the exclusive Australian distributer for the Fakro range
of skylights and windows.

Attic Living now employs over 50 staff across its four offices and
